Our History

In 1973, nine men from Fontana, Riverside and Upland signed on as the first Board of Trustees for Amigo House. Located in Bloomington, California, this 12-bed residential program was founded “to provide an environment where men who are suffering from alcoholism can be detoxified, treated, counseled and educated on the dangers of alcoholism and human behavior of problem drinkers.”

Today, more than 52 years later, Cedar House Life Change Center has grown into a multi-site, full-service provider in the battle against addiction. With locations in both San Bernardino and Riverside counties, we provide lifesaving and life-changing treatment for adults struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Our withdrawal management, residential, perinatal, and outpatient services are proudly accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We are able to provide care for individuals covered by Medi-Cal and private insurance. Cedar House remains on the forefront of addiction treatment using the most current, evidence-based practices.

Our Core Values

Our staff is dedicated to treating every client with dignity and respect. They exemplify our core values of excellence, passion, integrity and compassion.

The futures of those we serve depend on the effectiveness of our treatment programs. That’s why we offer a safe, confidential, therapeutic environment that promotes quality care by enhancing intrinsic motivation and assisting individuals through the stages of change.

Our programs are constantly evolving as we add the latest curriculum, develop innovative ways to continuously improve our services, and hire credentialed, highly qualified staff. We are changing lives and healing families.
