Co-Occurring Disorders

Helping those who suffer from substance abuse and mental health disorders is a specialized treatment that Cedar House has been perfecting since 1993.

Our Co-occurring Disorders Program is designed to help individuals gain a better understanding of the correlation between the effects of chemical dependency and psychiatric disorders. Dual Recovery discussion groups educate the client concerning various mental disorders through the use of evidence-based curriculum. Clients participate in coping skills groups and learn the importance of medication compliance. They also learn the value of open communication with their psychiatrist and clinical staff. We introduce our clients to Dual Recovery Anonymous self-help groups and family participation in the National Alliance of Mentally Ill (NAMI).
